[It's been lovely, finally having the steady presence of another strong female in his life, someone whose grace and power to admire and emulate and, occasionally, take shelter in - even if Hannibal would not usually admit to enjoying feeling cared-for.

Leblanc is similar and yet nothing like Murasaki or even his mother, and certainly not his sister, preserved clean and white and innocent in his mind. No, Leblanc is a beast completely of her own creation, unpredictable and provocative and so...soothing.

He enjoys their visits and has caught himself looking forward to them more and more, though Hannibal has never been very good at self-reflection and knowing himself and it took him quite some time to recognise what was growing in him. Attraction, little embers that recently had caught other parts of his psyche alight. That same burning had compelled him to sketch the woman, first simply as she appeared to him - head held high, shoulders thrown back, clothed but very nearly not because Leblanc seems to very much enjoy getting attention that way.

Today when he opens the door, she looks very different, covered much more than usual, and Hannibal decides he likes her even better like this. More of an enigma, more to hide, though it seems unlike her and yet meshes well with what he knows of her, all at the same time.]

As lovely as ever. [It's not an unusual greeting from a man who delights in flower arranging in his spare time, but there's an added layer to his words now, to his every motion. Hannibal's hardly even aware of it as he steps back to allow her to enter.]
